I know I know it sounds crazy but it is true.
Okay first you will need socks, old ones preferably because you are going to cut them up.
Cut the sock up in half and half again however this is my preference you can make the sock as small or large as you prefer. Depending on your hair length/ texture you will need to judge how many socks you will need. I normally need about 1 pair of socks because it will create 4 strips of fabric.
Then you can either wash your hair and leave it to dry till damp around 70% dry, or what i sometimes do is just get a spray bottle and spritz water on my hair to dampen it slightly.
After that you want to section your hair up, again this will slightly differ from person to person with how big/ many sections you do. I normally do about 4-6 sections. Then get one section and twist it away from your head, when the hair is twisted grab the sock fabric and begin to roll the hair with the sock upwards, when you have rolled the hair and sock up together tie the sock together. This will keep the sock in that form.
Do this to your whole head and maybe twist the hair differently or roll the hair with the sock the other way this will create different textured curls.
I would recommend doing this on the night and sleeping with the socks in.
In the morning just unravel the socks and i would spritz the hair slightly with hairspray to keep the curl in. Finger through the curls and mess it up to create a voluminous curly hairstyle.
GOOD LUCK !
I didnt include photos of the hair after because my hair will look differently to your hair
